Dr. J. Anthony Stephens, a Baton Rouge native, graduated from Louisiana State University Medical School in 1991. He began his medical career at Charity Hospital in New Orleans and completed his Plastic Surgery Fellowship from 1996 to 1998. In 1998, he opened his private practice in Baton Rouge.
Dr. Stephens began his career as a general surgeon, drawn to the creativity and problem-solving of the specialty. This passion for thinking outside the box led him to plastic surgery, where he can make a noticeable difference in his patients’ lives. Dr. Stephens offers a holistic approach, emphasizing personalized care and patient education. Dr. Stephens under-promises and over-delivers, ensuring patients are good candidates for treatment and referring patients to specialists when appropriate. Outside of work, Dr. Stephens enjoys flying his WWII Stearman airplane, skiing, golfing, and spending time on the water with his wife, Karen, and their children.
